A little history...
Old Town Mill, part of which is known as Holy Cross Church was built in 1817. By 1825 over 200 people were employed in the mill manufacturing broadcloth. The part of the mill now occupied by the church was originally the engine house for the mill.
James Wilfred Palser, conveyed the property to the Clifton Diocesan Trustees in 1953 and the large room upstairs was converted in the church.
The building was renovated in 1982, and the Church moved down stairs, and the old church, became the upper room and a venue for social activities.
